Your first team in 5 minutes

You stop typing into one agent and start running a small team of them. In CodeAF each agent is a conversation, a team is a named group of conversations, and a manager is one more conversation whose job is the team. You say what you want once, to the manager, and it hands the work out.

Before you start

Install with curl -fsSL https://agentfield.ai/get/codeaf | bash, then run codeaf. The first run shows two short screens: connect openrouter, where Enter signs you in in your browser (or you paste a key), and Models and spending, where Enter keeps the daily limit and chat model it shows. Nothing about managers costs anything until you make one.

What happens at each step

Ctrl+T opens a new chat, and your first message starts the conversation. On the wall every conversation is a live tile. Space picks tiles and S opens a New team card with the name already filled in: when all the chats sit in one project folder, the team takes that folder's name, and Enter makes it, Made shop-api · 3.

On the teams page, choose the team and press Shift+M. The manager is a new conversation in the team's folder, and its box reads to ◆ shop-api manager. If your keys are still moving around the page, Esc puts them in the box. From there the manager reads the team, sends members their work, and starts new members when it needs more hands. New conversations run with approvals off (◇ YOLO), so it will not ask before it starts one; press Alt+A in the manager for ◇ asks if you want a card for each start.

When a member finishes, it tells the manager, which wakes and reports to you. When the team outgrows one manager, the same manager can start a sub-team with a manager of its own, and later a global manager can sit over every team: the layer you just made is the one the whole chart is built from.

Things to build

• A feature and its tests: two members, one building and one testing, and a manager that hands the tests out when the feature reports done.
• A tidy window: turn a window of unrelated chats into named teams, each with a manager. Organize a messy window
• A review line: the next team to try, where nothing merges until a reviewer says pass. Review every change
